Rise Above 2017

For my graduation my father got me tickets for rise above music fest in Bangor, ME at Darlings Waterfront Pavilion. Ray and I were supper excited. The event is two full days with so many great artists, merchandise and food!

This is such a good event to be apart of, brought to you by SAVE - Suicide awareness voice of education. Many tributes were made to many people along with the lead singer of Linkin Park, Chester Bennington who had passed just prior to this event.

Because we arrived on Friday and the event was Saturday and Sunday, we decided to take a quick trip down to Bar Harbour, ME. Its a great little town with a lot of little shops and a great view, we usually park and walk around.

There is a store with a lot of fossils, bugs in glass, and mounts of animals, that we like to go into, on this trip we went in hopes to find a replacement alligator head as our first one from this store had gotten destroyed. Unfortuntely they didn't have what we were looking for so we ended up getting a glow in the dark jelly fish surrounded by glass. I also got a great shirt! I have seen these types of shirt on the internet and always wanted one. "Happiness is a pitbull smile" -- now isn't that the truth!

After that we drove back towards Bangor, ME to check into our hotel too check in and drop off our stuff. Obviously we had to go to our favorite restaurant in Bangor, which is Applebees! we ended up eating there twice this weekend, its so cheap and you get so much food!

Day one of Rise above fest! Sooo many people! Earlier in the day stages B & C are open is a smaller field off to the side for the first few acts, then the main stage opens around supper time. Next time we will need to bring chairs. For the first day we did not show up until the main stage opened as there weren't anyone of interest to us in the afternoon, mind you we both said next time we will go start to finish so we can experience some new bands. In the evening we were most excited to see Skillet, Seether, Stone Sour, and Korn!

Day two, we arrived eariler today so we could get Tims (of course), seen this guy

When we got to the event we watched a few new-to-us bands along with one band Ray was dying to see (Avatar)

Next was time to go to the main stage, most excited to see: All that remains, Theory of a deadman, Halestrom and Shinedown.

You could say we had a blast!
